The Thoroughgood House in Virginia Beach Virginia – A Colonial Home

The Thoroughgood House in Virginia Beach, Virginia, is a restored Tudor style house located at 16-36th Street, in Thoroughgood, Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was previously called the Adam Thoroughgood House. It wasn’t initially constructed by Adam, either. He may have had some involvement in building the structure, but it most likely was his son John’s work. Learn more facts here.

The elegant house design includes a ground floor court with a large porch and an extensive library area. It contains shelves, tables, and even a desk. Also, the original floor plan of the home featured a two-car garage. The interior of the home featured mostly tile and hardwood, along with a variety of antiques. The living room was large, and the most extensive section of the house was the kitchen/breakfast nook. The house is on the National Register of Historic Places as a historical landmark. It is also one of only two homes in Virginia Beach to be listed on the National Historic Landmark list.
