Poquoson, informally known as Bull Island, is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia. As of the 2010 census, the population was 12,150. Poquoson City Public Schools serve the city. There are four public schools in Poquoson. There is the Poquoson Primary School for Kindergarten and 1st and 2nd grades. Poquoson Elementary School serves the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Poquoson Middle School offers 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade classes. Poquoson High School has grades 9-12.
